What to Expect

Shanghai may not be the oldest city in Shanghai, but it’s food traditions long out-date the modern city you see today. We’ll head to Shanghai’s old city, where you’ll get a feel of what Shanghai and its food used to be like before it was colonized. I’ll take you through the serene Yu Yuan Garden and tell you a little bit of its history before we head to a famous 120+ year-old Xiao Long Bao restaurant. Xiao Long Bao are Shanghai’s most iconic food. Many restaurants boast delicious Shanghai Xiao Long Bao, but in reality they are serving a different type of soup dumpling from Hangzhou that is sweeter and simpler to make. This restaurant still holds to the original Xiao Long Bao flavor, and hasn’t changed its perfected recipe once in its long history. Their flavor is Bao-tiful.
