What to Expect

  • Mutianyu Great Wall

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby and take you to Mutianyu Great Wall directly. Located in Huai Rou County on the north-east of Beijing, it takes about 1.5 hours driving there from downtown Beijing. During the journey, your guide will give you a vivid introduction of this section of the Great Wall.

  • Mutianyu Great Wall 2

Upon arrival, with your pre-booked ticket, you can travel directly to the gate rather than using the shuttle bus transfer, which is much quicker and saves time. Choose a round-trip cable car ride (additional cost) to and from the wall, or opt to descend by toboggan (additional cost): riding a toboggan-style cart down the hillside.

  • Mutianyu Great Wall 3

Once you arrive at the top, you’ll have a couple of hours to hike and explore. As one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, the Mutianyu Great Wall is renowned for its picturesque scenery and beautifully-restored architecture. Plus, this section of the Great Wall is less crowded with tourists which means you can explore on your own, away from the crowds.

  • Chinese dumpling lunch

For lunch, you will be revitalized with a Chinese dumpling lunch at a local restaurant, where you can have a taste of different styles of dumplings.
