Next, pass through the south gate to the Forbidden city, commonly known as GuGong. Known as the world’s best preserved imperial garden, you can spend several hours here admiring its majestic beauty and learning about its history.
Right across the exit of Forbidden City stands Jingshan Park, an imperial park covering 23 hectares. Stop by its focal point, the artificial hill Jingshan and take some pictures.
Your driver will drive you to HouHai area of Beijing, where you can visit the old Hutong. As an important cultural element, these streets and alleys reflect the culture and history of grassroots Beijingers. Change your transportation into a delightful rickshaw to explore this area better.
After lunch, you’ll be visiting the Lama Temple, the largest temple and monastery of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism.
Mutianyu Great Wall
Meet your guide and driver at the hotel lobby and they will take you to Mutianyu Great Wall directly. Located in Huai Rou County on the north-east of Beijing, it takes about 1.5 hours driving there from downtown Beijing. Once you get there, you can explore the architectural wonder at your own pace.
