Get to know Shanghai and Suzhou with your own guide on this private tour. Admire bird's-eye views from a Pudong tower, stroll along The Bund or Riverside Promenade (Binjiang Da Dao), and visit the Yuyuan Garden and bazaar. Plus, explore the Confucius Temple and Concession area, and enjoy a dumpling lunch (own expense) and traditional tea ceremony.
And then go to the "Venice of the East" -- Suzhou. Travel along the winding canals, historical buildings, and classic gardens. Include Suzhou's must-see sites and hidden enclaves from Shanghai.
Meet your guide at your hotel. First, you will visit an iconic building in the financial center of Shanghai and rise to the observation deck to have a panoramic birds eye view of the whole city.
From here you will visit the Bund Area, where we will enjoy 100-year old architecture and enjoy exciting views across the Huangpu River and riverside parks. This area was controlled by the British during the concessions period.
Next, you'll visit the Confucius Temple, the top university in the history of Shanghai. It was built in 1291 and the only place to pay respects to Confucius in the city. From here, you will then go to a century-old local restaurant to have traditional steamed buns and local dishes.
In the afternoon, you'll visit Yuyuan Garden, a famous classical garden in southern China which is over 400 years old built in Ming Dynasty, the area around the garden has been the downtown of the city for several hundred years.
To end of the day, you'll visit one more place of your choice - the Former Concession Area to enjoy the atmosphere of east meets west or one of the new popular places in Shanghai, Tianzifang, to completely give your tour a relaxing end. Drop off to your hotel.
At the beginning of the second day you'll travel to Suzhou by your private car. Next, you will visit one of the four most famous gardens in China –The Humble Administrator's garden.Take a walk along the old canal section on the historical Pingjiang Road and then have lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch,visit the 13th century Buddhist temple or a silk factory depending on your own interests. Continue to the "No.1 ancient street -- Pingjiang Rd" and you can take a boat trip along the canal.
At the end of the tour, see the famous leaning pagoda on the Tiger Hill and then go back to Shanghai.
Only for hotels located in downtown area, pick up does not include the hotel in the outskirts such as Jiading, Songjiang, Qingpu, Jinqiao, Chuansha in Pudong areas etc. If your hotel is not in the downtown your guide will give you the instruction to meet at the downtown point.
